THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA PROCLAIMING THE
CONTINUED EXISTENCE OF THE LOCAL EMERGENCY
WHEREAS,

DIrector of Emergency ServIces to proclaIm the eXIsten,e or
threatened eXIstence of a local emergency when thp CIty 01 Santa

and the CIty CounCIl IS not In seSSIon; and
WHEREAS, commenCIng on January 27, 1983, condItlon~ of
extreme perIl to the safety of persons and property have arIsen
wIthIn the CIty of Santa MonIca caused by storm, hIgh tIdes, an0
heavy surf; and
WHEREAS, the CIty CounCIl was not In SeSSIon On January 27,
1983; and
WHEREAS, on January 27, 1983, the DIrector of Emergency
SerVIces of the CIty of Santa MonIca dId proclaIm the eXIstencE
of a local emergency WIthIn the CIty of Santa MonIca; and
WHEREAS, on February 1,
1983, the CIty CounCIl adopted

R@solutIon Number 6642 (CCS)} ratIfYIng, confIrmIng, and
approvIng} the proclamatIon of local pmergency by the DIrector of
Emergency Servlces; and
WHEREAS} pursuant to Government Code SeclIon 8630, the CIty
CouncIl has reVIewed the need to contInue the local emergency,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS;
SECTION 1. The local emergency as proclaImed by the
DIrector of Emergency ServIces on January 27, 1983, shall be
deemed to contInue to eXIst In the CIty of Santa MonIca untIl Its
termInatIon IS proclaImed by the CIty CouncIl of the CIty of
Santa MonIca.
SECTION 2. The local emergency as proclaImed by the
DIrector of Emergency ServIces on March 1} 1983~ shall be deemed
to contInue to eXIst In the CIty of Santa Monlca untIl Its
termInatIon IS proclaimed by the CIty CouncIl of the City of
Santa Monica.

SECTION 3. The CIty Clerk shall certlfy to the adoptlon of
thlS R~solut1onJ and thenceforth and thereafter the sam~ shall be
10 full force and effect.
