salary and Benefits for city Clerk
INTRODUCTION
At a special City council Meeting held on October 14, 1988, the
City Council appointed Clarice Johnsen to the position of City
Clerk.
The motion passed by the city council directed that
Clarice Johnsen receive the same benefits provided under the
Executive Pay Plan with the exception of the merit bonus and that
her salary be set within the current salary range established for
the position of City Clerk. Pursuant to City Council direction,
the attached resolution establishes the salary and benefits for
the City Clerk for fiscal year 1988-89.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the city council adopt the attached
resolution establishing salary and benefits for the city Clerk.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA ESTABLISHING
SALARY AND BENEFITS FOR THE
POSITION OF CITY CLERK
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The following salary level is hereby
established for the indicated classification, effective October
17, 1988.
CITY CLERK
$4,479/Month E-Step
($4,793 with PERS)
SECTION 2: Clarice Johnsen is appointed to the position of
City Clerk at C-step of this range which is $4,031/Month
($4, 313/month with PERS).
SECTION 3: The benefits accorded to this position shall be
the same as for the members of the Executive Pay Plan with the
exception of the merit bonus pool.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.

exception of participation 1n the performance bonus pool.
_ with regard to the retiree medical insurance
provision of the. Executive Pay Plan, up to five years of credit
in calculating program eligibility shall be given for service in
another publi~ local, state or federal agency.
SECTION 3: The city Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
