speclflcatlons and ten revlsed classlflcatlon speclfications.
All speclflcations have been reVlewed and approved by the Person-
nel Board.
In addltlon, thlS report requests adoption of the attached
Resolution establlshlng new and/or revlsed salary rates for cer-
taln permanent and "as-needed" claSSIfIcations 1n conJunctlon
With adoptIon of the Fiscal Year 1986-l987 budget.

Bac~groun? - Salary Recommendations
The establIshment of approprlate salary rates for the new clas-
SificatIons and of reVIsed salary rates for eXisting classifica-
tlons 1S an extenSIVe process and includes thorough analySiS by
the Personnel Department, City Manager, and l1anagement SerV1ces
staff of both internal and external comparison factors. The
results of thIS reVIew process have been Incorporated 1n the pro-
posed budget calculations. The attached ResolutIon must be adop-
ted by Counell to Implement the new and reVIsed salary rates.
