INTPODUCTION
ThlS report recommends that Councll adopt a resolu~lon namlng persons
authorlzed to execute documents ln accordance wlth the Emergency Assistance
Act of 1988, or State FlnanClal ASslstance under t~e Natural Dlsaster
Asslstance Act.
BACKGROUND
Resolutlon n8384 currently authorlzes named indlvlduals to slgn offlClal
Clty documents relatlng to state flnanclal asslstance resultlng from maJor
emergency sltuatlons. PubllC La~r (P.L.) 93-288 requlres such a resolutlon.
Emergency serVlces are currently managed by the Santa Monlca Flre
Department. In order to comply wlth reportlng requlrements instltuted by the
State, an amended resolutlon 15 requlred to add John M. Montenero, Flre
Chlef, as a named slgnator on all offlclal documents relatlng to P.L. 93-288
and State Flnanclal ASslstance
