SUBJECT: Allocation of Recycling Study Grant Fund into the 1980/1981 Budget
Introductlon
ThlS report requests the City Council approprlate a S34,700 grant from the
State S011d Waste Management Board into the 1980/1981 budget.
Background
May 1, 1980~ the State SOlld Waste Management Board awarded $34~700 to Santa
Monlca to fund a Recycling FeaSlbillty Study. On May 27th, the City Councl1
authorized the Clty Manager to enter into a contract wlth the SWMB for this
study. The contract was slgned June 4, 1980. Expenses against this account
cannot be paid until the Clty Counell speclfically appropriates the grant funds
1 n to the budget.
Recommendatlon
Staff requests the City Council approprlate grant funds in the amount of $34,700
frOM the State Solid ~aste Management Board.
