Introduct10n
This report is requesting City Councll to set a pub11C hearing for
the assessment of the costs of Tree Planting Distrlct 6 on Lincoln
Boulevard from Ocean Park Boulevard to the South City Limits.
Background
On September 26, 1978, the City Council ordered the planting of trees
on Llncoln between Ocean Park Boulevard and the South City Limits.
The work has been completed and the property owner's sh~re of the
costs will now be due A public hearlng must be held pursuant to
Section 5882 of the Streets and Hlghway Code of the State of
California. A resolution conf1rmlng the assessments and settlng the
publlC hear1ng 1S attached.
Recommendatlon
It is reco~mended that the City Councl1 adopt the attached resolution
settlng a pub11C hearlng for June 26, 1979, on the assessment of
costs of the subJect tree plantings.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA APPROVING THE fILING OF REPORT OF WORK AND
SETTING A HEARING DATE FOR ANY PROTESTS OR OBJECTIONS
TO THE REPORT OF THE SUPERINTENDENT OF STREETS RE-
GARDING TREE PLANTING ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO.6 ON
lINCOLN BOULEVARD.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SEcn ON 1. That the Superintendent of Streets has flled a
report of work pursuant to Section 5882 of the Streets and Highways Code
of the State of Californla, relatlng to the construction of certain
improvements completed on:
Lincoln Boulevard from Ocean Park Boulevard and the South
( City Limits within the Clty of Santa Monica.
SECTION 2. That pursuant to Section 5870, et seq. of sald
code, the City Council does hereby order and declare that on the 26th day
of June, 1979, in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, it wlll hear and
pass upon any and all objections or protests to the report of work of the
Superintendent of Streets and the amount of the assessment asslgned
against the real property described in said report.
SECTION 3. That all protests or obJections must be in wrlting
and filed with the City Clerk on or before the time set for hearing of
protests and objections.

SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
thlS resolutlon and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full
force and effect.

Re: Completion of Tree Planting District #6
Pursuant to the orovisions of Section 5882 of the Streets and
,
Highways Code of the State of California, Resolution of Intention No.
5097 C.C.S, adopted September 26, 1978, Resolution Ordering No. 5133
C.C.S,adopted November 14, 1978, the following work was completed on
April 13, 1979, to wit:
The planting of sixty-three (63) trees along Lincoln Bouleverd,
between Ocean Park Boulevard and the south city lim1ts,within the
City of Santa Monica.
The total cost of the work to the property owners was $6,190,30.
The proposed assessment is $6,190,30. The assessment was made on the
basis of $1.50 per front foot.
Reference is made to the attached sheets for a description of the
real property in front of which the work has been done and the assessment
against each lot or parcel of land proposed to be levied to pay the cost
thereof.
