Street Tree Planting on Lincoln Boulevard from PieD Blvd. to

Introductlon
Th1S report recommends that the City Council approve the attached Resolution
of Intention for planting trees on Lincoln Boulevard from Pica Boulevard to
PacHi c Street.
Background
The City Council at the1r meeting on Apr1l 26, 1977t authorized the City
Staff to proceed on a tree planting program on Lincoln Boulevard in eight
separate assessment distr1cts in accordance with Chapter 27 of the Improve-
ment Act of 1911. The portion of Lincoln Boulevard from P1CO Boulevard to
Paciflc Street is the fourth of the eight districts. Planting 1n the first
two sections between Pica Blvd. and Broadway
is now complete, and the
planting on the th1rd section between Wilshire and Broadway will begin soon.
The City wlll do the planting and partlcipate in the cost with Gas Tax Funds.
The estimated assessment cost to the abutting property owners is $1.50 per
front foot. Twenty-one properties are in this project.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached Resolution of
Intention Wh1Ch sets a public hearing for June 27, 1978.
