SUBJECT: Assessment of Costs for Tree Planting District #1 on
Lincoln Boulevard T-77-1

Introduction
This report is requesting City Council to set a public hearing for the
assessment of the costs of Tree Planting District #1 on Lincoln Blvd. between
the Freeway and Broadway.
Background.
On June 28, 1977, the City Council ordered the planting of trees on Lincoln
betweer. Broadway ai-d the Freeway. The work has been completed and the prop-
erty owner.s share of the costs will now be due. A public hearlng must be
held pursuant to Section 5882 of the Streets and Highway Code of the State
of California. A resolution confirming the assessments and setting the public
hearing is attached, together with assessment maps indlcating parcels against
which ller.s will be filed. The owners' names and amount of assessment against
each are listed.
Recommendation
It is recommepded that the City Council adopt the attached resolution setting
a public hearing for Aprll 25, 1978, on the assessment of costs of the subject
tree planting.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA APPROVING THE FILING OF
REPORT OF WORK AND SETTING A HEARING DATE FOR
ANY PROTESTS OR OBJECTIONS TO THE REPORT OF
THE SUPERINTENDENT OF STREETS

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE
AS FOLL0\6:
SECTION 1. That the Superintendent of Streets has filed a report
of work pursuant to Section 5882 of the Streets and Highways Code of the
State of Califorr.ia, relating to the construction of certain Improvements
cOJ11pleted O!'"J:
Llncoln Boulevard between the Santa Monica Freeway
and BroadwJY withln the City of Santa Monica.
SECTION 2. That pursuant to Section 5870, et seq. of said code,
the City Council does hereby order and declare that on the 25th day of
April~ 1978~ 1n the Council Chambers of the City Hall~ it will hear and
pass upon any and all objections or protests to the report of work of the
Superintende~t of Streets and the amount of the assessment assigned against
the real property described ln said report.
SECTION 3. That all protests or objections must be in wrlting and
filed wlth the City Clerk on or before the tlme set for hearing of protests
and objections.
