Street Tree Planting on Lincoln Boulevard from
the Freeway to Pico Boulevard
Introduction
This report recommends that the City Council approve the attached Resolution
of Intention for planting trees on Lincoln Boulevard from the Freeway to
Pica Boulevard.
Background
The City Councll at their meeting on April 26. 1977, authorized the City
Staff to proceed on a tree planting program on Lincoln Boulevard in eight
separate assessment districts in accordance with Chapter 27 of the Improve-
ment Act of 1911. The portlon of Llncoln Boulevard from the Freeway to
Pico is the second of the eight districts. Planting in the first sectlon
between Broadway and the Freeway should be in process in September.
The City wlll do the planting and participate in the cost with Gas Tax
Funds. The estimated assessment cost to the abutting property owners is
$1.50 per front foot. Thirty-four properties are in this project.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Councll adopt the attached Resolution of
