Dear Stan,
Last Thursday, the 19th, Nlna Byrnes of the CIty staff
reVIewed the proposal munICIpal solar utIlIty plans
w~th Harry Enck, chaIrman of the 8ulldlng Codes commIttee
for CALSEIA-GLA and ~yself. Although our lnltlal look
through revealed a well thought out and organ.lzed setup,
certaIn key pOInts were of concern to our lndustry. A
telephone survey of the chapters Board of DIrectors
resulted In the sa~e concerns be.lng expressed.
The 80ard would 11ke to request a postponement of the
presentatIon to the city counCIl untll the next aV31lable
date. ThIS w11l afford us sufflc1ent tlwe to reV1ew
the proposal. A speCial meet1ng of the board has been
scheduled for Monday evenIng, the 29th, for the sole
purpose of reachIng a concensus on the M.S.U.
I would also llke to convey our concern, that any future
delays beyond the one requested above could prove
extremely detr~mental to our Industry. As consumers
learn of the ~.S.U., they tend to hold off purchases
unt1l more advantageous finanCIng IS avallable.
I also have one ot~er flnal request. The M.S.U. lS of
major concern tc our lndustry as It 1S be.lng watched by
many communltles, so I would lIke the opportunlty to
address the C1ty counC11 as the offlclal representatIve
of our Industry.
