Facade Changes for Clty Attorney1s Addltlon to City Hall
Introduetlon
ThlS report recommends that the Clty Councll approve proposed changes to
the Facade of the City Hall to facllltate the completlon of the City Attorney1s
AdditlOn.
Background
On February 26, 1980, the Clty Councll awarded a contract for the C1ty Attorney's
Addltlon 1n the amount of S535,455. Also at that time contlngencies were
approved in the amount of $94,545 The plans Wh1Ch were approved by the
Coastal Commisslon, the Architectural Review Board, and the Clty Councll showed
8 small wlndm\fs above the ~\fords UC1ty Hall!; on the front wall of the City Hall.
Since that tlme several members of the attorney's staff and the actlng Clty
Attorney have requested that certa1n addltlonal wlndows be provlded to provide
natural lightlng to the two attorney1s offices on either side of the City Attorney's
offlce. The staff subm1tted a number of alternative Facade designs to the
Architectural Review Board on Wednesday, November 19 and the board approved
a1ternat1ve E wh1eh is attached. This shows 9 windows WhlCh would be lnstalled
1n the front wall of the City Hall. No additional funds are required, but
City Council approval of th1S change is requested.
