ThlS report transmlts the recommendatlon of the L 01,0. 37.fL7
that a new Ocean Park Branch Llbrary be constructeu ~~ a
portlon of ~ary Hotchkiss Park.
Back~round
At a speclal meetlng on January 12, 1978, the Board voted to
endorse HotcbklSS Park as a slte for a new branch llbrary and
to recommend ~hat an alternate use be found for the eXlsting
bui1dlng.
The Board has passed lts recommendatlon concernlng
the Hotchk18S Park site on to the Recreation and Park CommlsSlon.
The matter wlll be conSldered at a JOlnt meetlng between the
Board and the Commission on February 16, 1978.
Recommendation
There 18 no need for any Clty Councl1 actlon at the present tlme.
After recelpt of the Recreatlon and Parks CommiSSlon recommenda-
tlon, a full report will be presented to Councll wlth a dlSCUSSlon
of the alternatlves and a cost analysls of each.
