This report recommends City Council instruct the City Attorney to amend the
loading zone ordlnance to exclude the Santa Monica Pier.

Background
At the October 14, 1980, Clty Council meeting, Councll adopted an ordinance
which established a fee to install or repaint load1ng zones and, effective
hours for loading zones (Item 6C) as between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Staff is requesting the Santa Monica Pier be excluded from the 7 a.m. to
6 p.m. restriction and that loading zone be enforced on a 24 hour basls.
