Background The Park Division nursery building at the City Yards has numerous cracks, recurring flooding problems, and other deficiencies. $77,000 was budgeted in 1986-87 to replace the building with a movable steel structure. Plans and specifications for the design and construction of a prefabricated nursery maintenance building were prepared by the Engineering division. A Notice Inviting Bids was published on April 22 and 23, 1987 in the Evening Outlook and sent to four construction journals and seven minority associations. Plans and specifications were issued to six contractors. Bids were opened and read publicly on May 15, 1987, by the Deputy city Clerk. One bid was received for $164,606 from Summit Builders. staff will study design and funding options and readvertise the project. ,,~ JUN - 9 1987 - 1 - .- f . --- - .
