SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver
One (1) New and Unused Passenger Van with Wheelchair
Lift, Bid #2316
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver one (1)
New and Unused Passenger Van with Wheelchair Lift for the Senior
Nutrition Division, CUltural and Recreation Services Department,
in the total amount of $23,515.96, including applicable sales
tax.
Background
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published
October 2 and 3, 1990) to furnish and deliver one (1) new and
unused passenger van with wheelchair lift in accordance with c~ty
specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and read
on october 23, 1990.
Proposal forms were mailed to thirteen
vendors and notices were advertised in accordance with city
Charter and Municipal Code provisions.

staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that it meets city
specifications.
Budqet/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1990/91 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the Senior Nutrition Division, Cultural and Recreation
Services Department, account number 01-400-544-00000-8806-00000.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2316 be made to Downey
Auto Center in the total amount of $23,515.96, including
applicable tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
