Introduct~on
ThlS report transffilts, for second readlng and
adoptlon.. a proposed ordlnance ratlfYlng and adoptlng those
flne and fees recommended by the Llbrary Board and Llbrary
Staff WhlCh were consldered and approved by the Clty Counc~l
at lts June 2..7, 1978 meet~ng.
Background
The Clty Counc~l, at ltS June 27, 1978 meetlng,
approved revlsed fines and fees as recommended by the L~brary
Board and staff. Tb~s schedule of f~nes and fees 18 as
follows:
1. Increase overdue flnes.
Adults - from $.05 to $.10 per day
Ch~ldren - from s.03 to $.05 per day
2. Increase for Reserve Postcards
from $.20 to $.25
3. Increase Non-Resldent Borrower's Fee
from $10.00 to $20.00

4. Establ1sh $.10 per day rental collectl.on
for popular new books.
5. Increase Insurance Fee for 16 mm f1.lm loan
fro m $. 2 5 to $.75.
6. Increase fees for use by "for profl.t" groups
of Audltorlum and Conference Rooms as follows:
Audltor1Uffi - $50.00 when Ilbrary open
$100.00 when llbrary closed
Conference Room - $20.00 when Ilbrary
open (Note: room not avallable
when library 1.5 closed).
7. Establlsh surcharge on Flne Slips for overdue
materlals not pa1d at the time of return as
follows:
chlldren - $.25
adults - $.50

Recommendatlon
It 15 respectfully recommended that the Clty Counell
hold a second readlng on the attached ordlnance and adopt the
same.
