SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver
One (1) New and Unused 3/4 Ton Cab and Chassis with
Stake Bed and Lift Gate, Bid #2315
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver one (1)
New and Unused 3/4 Ton Cab and Chassis with Stake Bed and Lift
Gate for the Fleet Maintenance Division, General Services
Department,
in the total amount of $17,818.04,
including
applicable sales tax.
Background
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (publiShed
October 2 and 3, 1990) to furnish and deliver one (1) new and
unused 3/4 ton cab and chassis with stake bed and lift gate in
accordance with City specifications, bids were received and
publicly opened and read on october 23, 1990.
Proposal forms
were mailed to fourteen vendors and notices were advertised in
accordance with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Four
proposals were received as follows:

staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that it meets City
specifications.
Budget/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1990/91 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the Fleet Maintenance Division, General Services Department,
account number 01-500-461-00000-8806-00000.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2315 be made to Cummings
Buick GMC Trucks in the total amount of $17,818.04, including
applicable tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
