SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver
One (1) New and Unused 11,000 Gross Vehicle Weight
Rated (GVWR) Cab and Chassis with 2-cubic Yard Dump
Body, Bid #2273
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver one (1)
new and unused 11,OOO GVWR cab and chassis with 2-cubic yard dump
body for the street Division, General services Department, in the
total amount of $20,188.56, including applicable sales tax.
Background
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published April 9
and 10, 1990) to furnish and deliver one (I) new and unused
11,OOO GVWR cab and chassis with 2-cubic yard dump body in
accordance with City specifications, bids were received and
publicly opened and read on April 24, 1990. Proposal forms were
mailed to seven vendors and notices were advertised in accordance
with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Two proposals
were received as follows:
Santa Monica Ford $20,188.56
Cummings Buick-GMC $20,357.20 6-r

The vehicle is used for street maintenance. Staff has evaluated
the low bid and finds that it meets city specifications.
BUdget/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1989/90 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the street Division, General Services Department, account
number 01-500-421-00000-8806-00000.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2273 be made to Santa
Monica Ford in the total amount of $20,188.56, including
applicable tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
