SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver
Outlet Boxes, Switch Boxes and Connectors, Bid #2294
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver out!et
boxes, switch boxes and connectors at specified unit prices, plus
applicable sales tax, and two one-year renewal options.
Bachground
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published May 23
and 24, 1990) to furnish and deliver outlet boxes, switch boxes
and connectors in accordance with City specifications, bids were
received and publicly op~~~~nd read on June 7, 1990. Proposal
forms were mailed to twenty vendors and notices were advertised
in accordance with city Charter and Municipal Code provisions.
Five proposals were received as follows:

specifications.
Budget/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1990/91 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the maintenance accounts of various departments.
As the
materials are drawn out of inventory, they will be expensed
against available FY 1990/91 appropriation authority.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2294 be made to Brandon
Industrial at specified unit prices, plus applicable sales tax,
and two one-year renewal options, as the lowest and best bidder.
