SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver
Miscellaneous Lumber and Lumber supplies, Bid #2289
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver
miscellaneous lumber and lumber supplies at specified unit
prices, plus applicable sales tax.
Background
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published May 23
and 24, 1990) to furnish and deliver miscellaneous lumber and
lumber supplies in accordance with city specifications, bids were
received and publicly opened and read on June 7, 1990. Proposal
forms were mailed to six vendors and notices were advertised in
accordance with city Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Two
proposals were received as shown in the attached tabulation.
The bid covers a variety of lumber and lumber supplies. staff
has reviewed the proposals and finds that it is in the City'S
interest to split the bid and award the bid based on the low
bidder per item. Each bid meets City specifications.

BUdget/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1990/91 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the maintenance accounts of various departments.
As the
materials are drawn out of inventory, they will be expensed
against available FY 1990/91 appropriation authority.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2289 be split as
follows, per attached unit prices (Attachment A), plus applicable
sales tax, as the lowest and best bidder;
