SUBJECT: Recommendation to Reject Bid for Repiping of Police
Department Building. Bid No. 1664
Introduction
This report concerns a recommendation to reject the one bid
received for repiping of the Santa 110nica Police Building.
Background
In response to publ~shed Not~ce Inviting Bids to furnish labor
and materials necessary to repipe the Santa Monica Police Build~ng
in accordance with City specifications, bids were received and
publicly opened and read September 24, 1981. Proposal forms were
mailed to nineteen plumbers and notices were advertised in
accordance with City specifications, bids were received and publicly
opened and read September 24, 1981. One proposal was received
from Bob Stoltz Plumbing and Heating, Inc. in the amount of
~134,500. Thirty two thousand dollars was approved by the
City Council for this project in the current budget.
Recommendat~on
It is recoillQended that the bid received be rejected and
alternatives to the specifications be studied by Staff.
