SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Provide Security
services, Bid #2303
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to provide security services
for the community and Neighborhood services Division, community
and Economic Development Department, at specified monthly rate
and two one-year renewal options.
Background
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published July 16
and 17, 1990) to provide security services in accordance with
city specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and
read on August 9, 1990. Proposal forms were mailed to four
vendors and notices were advertised in accordance with city
Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Three proposals were
received as follows:
Monthly Rate
Wells Fargo Guard Services $4,156.32
Coast Protection Agency (WMBE) $4,200.00
American protective services $4,995.00

Security services are to be provided at 602, 604 and 612 Colorado
Avenue. city of Santa Monica police Department has reviewed the
low bid and concurs with staff's recommendation. staff has
evaluated the low bid and finds that it meets city
specifications.
Budget/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1990/91 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the Community and Neighborhood services Division, community
and Economic Development Department, account number
01-200-262-00000-5595-00000.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2303 be made to
Wells Fargo Guard Services at specified monthly rate and two
one-year renewal options, as the lowest and best bidder.
