This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver one (l)
new and unused 48,400 GVWR Dump Truck with Insulated Body for the
streets Division, General Services Department, in the total
amount of $75,417.81, including applicable sales tax.
~ackground
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published
october 2 and 3, 1990) to furnish and deliver one (1) new and
unused 48,400 GVWR dump truck with insulated body in accordance
with city specifications, bids were received and publicly opened
and read on October 23, 1990.
Proposal forms were mailed to
sixteen vendors and notices were advertised in accordance with
City Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Two proposals were
received as follows:

staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that it meets City
specifications.

Fiscal Year 1990/91 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the Capital Improvement Program budget account number

Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2313 be made to Coleman
Truck Center in the total amount of $75,417.81, including
applicable tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
