SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver Two
(2) New Intermediate Size PiCkUp Trucks, Bid #2349.
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to award bid to furnish and
deliver two (2) New Intermediate Size Pickup Trucks for the
Animal Regulation Division, Police Department, in the total
amount of $23,002.861 including applicable sales tax.
Background
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published
March 21 and 22, 1991) to furnish and deliver two (2) New
Intermediate Size Pickup Trucks in accordance with City
specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and read
on April 9, 1991. Proposal forms were mailed to six vendors and
notices were advertised in accordance with City Charter and
Municipal Code provisions. Two proposals were received as
follows:
Santa Monica Ford $23,002.86
Crenshaw Motors $23,089.46

staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that it meets city
specifications.
B~dget/Financial Impact

Fiscal Year 1990/91 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the Animal Regulation Division, Police Department, account
number 01-300-302-00000-8806-00000.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2349 be made to Santa
Monica Ford in the total amount of $23,002.86, including
applicable tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
