SUBJECT: Recommendation to Waive Bid ~rocedure for the Procurement
of t\VO (2) Disk Drives
Introduction
This report concerns the Procurement of Disk Drives for the
Data Processing Department. The expenditure during fiscal year
1980-81 for this requirement is estimated to be $ 29,950.
Funds for this Procurement have been budgeted in account number
46-100-223-000-950
Background
Research by staff has determined that the two Disk Drives
required by Data Processing must be compatible with the existing
Hewlett Packard Computer, thus making this a "Proprietary" or
Sole Source Procurement.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the Council adopt the Resolution to waive
the Bid Procedure in this instance and authorize the City
Manager to execute a I1Sole Source" Procurement for the t,vo (2)
Hewlett Packard Disk Drives
