SUBJECT- Recommendation to waive bids for Re-Roofing of
Joslyn Park Recreation Building
Introduction
This report concerns waivinf, of bid for Re-Roofing Recreation
Building in the estimated amount of $7,000 00 Funds for this
purchase have beenavai1able in account number 01-400-511-000-920.
Background
The Parks and Recreation Department has determined that the
Jose1yn Park Recreation Building is in need of immediate re-
roofing to avoid possible rain damage to the Gymnasiu~ floor.
Proposals from three roofing contractors have been received and
evaluated by staff Because of the urgency of this requirement,
staff requests waiving of Formal Bid Procedures
Recommendation
It is recoronended that the award be made to H.C Brandt Inc in
the total amount of $6,827.00, including tax, for submitting
the lowest and best proposal

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA WAIVING FURTHER FORMAL BID
PROCEDURE AND AUTHORIZING DIRECT NEGOTIATION
FOR RE-ROOFING OF JOSLYN PARK RECREATION
BUILDING
vlHEREAS , the City of Santa ~onica Parks and Recreation
Department requirement for Re-Roofing Joslyn Park Recreation
Building
\~EREAS, Time does not permit formal bid procedures because
of possible rain damage.
llliEREAS , to the best of Staff's knowledge the H.C. Brandt
Co. has submitted the lowest and best proposal.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS.
SECTION 1. That the City Council finds that the requirement
- exists to Re-Roof the Recreation Building.
SECTION 2. That further bid solicitation would cause un-
necessary expense and delay, and is hereby waived
SECTION 3. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to
excute a purchase agreement for the Re-Roofing of the Recreation
Building.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
