SUBJECT: Recornoendation to Waive Formal Bid Procedures for
the Sole Source Procurement of a Six Bin Trailer from
thdway Fishing Tool Company.
Introduction
This report concerns procurenent of a six bin tra~ler to be used
in the City's recycling program in the total amount of $8957.16
including applicable sales tax. Funds for this purchase have been
budgeted in account number 27-500-443-000-803.
Backgrou~d
The City has a requ~re~ent for a trailer to be used in its
recycling prograo to transport six refuse bins containing
recyclable ~aterials. Research by staff has determined this to
be a proprietary product of the I:'1id\'17ay Fishing Tool Co., thereby
qualifying it as a sole source procurement under section
2506-A of the Santa Honica Hunicipal Code.
Recomr:lendat~on
It is recommended that City Council adopt the attached resolution
\Jaiving forulal bid procedure and authorizing the City Hanaser to
execute a sole source purchase agreement with the Midway Fishing
Tool Co. in the total amount of $8,957.16, including tax.

CEDURE fu~D AUTHORIZING DIRECT NEGOTIATION FOR
PURCHASE OF A SIX BIN TRAILER
HHEREAS , the City of Santa Honica has a requirenent
for a six bin trailer
HHEREAS, to the best of Staff's knowledge only one
cOQpany can supply the equipment necessary for the re-
cycling program.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAi'l"TA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council finds that the requirement
exists to purchase the six bin trailer
_ SECTION 2. This is a Proprie~ary or Sole Source procureDent
under Section 2506A of the Santa Monica Municipal Code.
SECTION 3. That the City ~lanager is hereby authorized to
execute a purchase agreement for the equipcent.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption or
this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be In full force and effect.
