Emergency replacement of Air Conditioning Compressor -
Civic Auditorium
Introduction
The Civic Auditorium has an air compressor in its air conditioning
system which requires emergency replacement. This report requests
ratification of the purchase of a replacement compressor and
installation labor as outlined in section 2509 SMfiC. Funds are
available for this purchase in account number 32-400-621-000-322.
Background
The air condition~ng compressor which needs replacement must be
available for an event scheduled in the Auditor~um in March. Staff
has determ~ned that the replacement cannot be effected by that
time without emergency action.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council ratify an emergency
purchase order to Brown Air Conditioning, 1808 Lincoln Blvd ,
Venice, Californ~a, in the amount of $13,915.00 to furnish and
install a replacement air conditioning compressor. This ratificat~on
is in accordance with Section 2509 of the Santa Monica Hunl.cipa1 Code
