By Resolution and providlng for the Waiver
Thereof
On September 22, 1981, the City Council adopted Ordl-
fiance 1226 (CCS) amendlng-Munlclpal Code Sect10n 4116 so
that dog llcense fees would be set by resolut1on. Th1S
amendment was the result of a recornmendatlon by the Police
Depart~ent to waive dog license fees for senior c1tizens.
The accompanying resolutlon has been drafted to establish
dog license fees and to provlde for the waiver recommended
by the Pollee Department.
RECOMr4ENDA TI ON
It 1S respectfully recommended that the accompanYlng
resolut1on be adopted.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA ESTABLISHING
DOG LICENSE FEES AND PROVIDING FOR
THE WAIVER THEREOF
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION l. Except as prov~ded 1n Sect~on 2 of this
Resolution, there shall be an annual dog license fee for all
persons harboring dogs within the City of Santa Monica in the
amount of $ 5.00 for every neutered male or spayed female dog
and $ 10.00 for every unneutered male or uns~ayed female dog,
wh~ch fee shall be paid to the City C~erk, License Division,
at the time and in the manner provided by Section 4116 of the
Santa Monica Municipal Code.
SECTION 2. The $ 5.00 fee prescribed by Section 1 of
thlS Resolut~on for neutered male and spayed female dogs
shall be waived with respect to such dogs harbored by any
sen~or citizen. For purposes of this section "senior citi-
zen" means any resident of the city of Santa Monica who is 62
years of age or older.

SECTION 3. The fees established by this Resolution
shall be effective on the effective date of Ordinance Number
l226 ( CCS ) .
SECTION 4. The C1ty Clerk shall certify to he adoption
of this Resolut1on and thenceforth and thereafter the same
shall be in full force and effect.
