Introduction
ThlS report recommends to City Caunell approval of the
attached resolutlon to eatabllsh a parking zone for the physlcally
handlcapped at the requested locatlon.

On May 27, 1980 (Item 6C) the Clty Counell adopted an ordinance
to enable the establlshment of parking zones for physlcally handlcapped.
Under this ordlnance a physlcally handlcapped zone may be establlshed
by resolutlon of the Clty Counell upon request by any lndlVldual
and conslderatlon by the Parklng and Trafflc Englneer.
Staff has recelved a request from a resldent for a physlcally
handlcapped zone adJacent to 815 lOth Street. Staff has revlewed
the request and f~nds that the zone meets all the appropr~ate
requ~rements. The requested zone is In front of a multlfarnlly
dwelllng. All the residents slgned a petltlon supportlng the request,

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA ESTABLISHING PHYSICALLY
HANDICAPPED ZONE ADJACENT TO 815 10TH STREET
WHEREAS, the City Counc~l of the City of Santa
Monlca has enacted an ordinance enabl~ng ind~v~duals to request
parking zones for physically handicapped persons; and
WHEREAS, the Clty has received a request for a physlcally
handlcapped zone~ and
WHEREAS, the Park1ng and Trafflc EngIneer has consldered
the request a~d concluded, based upon the factors stated ln the
ordlnance, that a physlcally hand~capped zone may be lnstalled at
the requested locatlon,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. A physlcally handlcapped zone ~s hereby
establlshed on 10th Street adJacent to 815 10th street.
SECTIO~ 2. The Clty Clerk shall certify to the adopt~on
of thlS resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.

Introduction
This report recommends that the city council approve the attached
resolution to establish a parking zone for the physically
handicapped at the requested location.
Backqround
On May 27, 1980, the City Council adopted an ordinance to enable
the establishment
of parking
zones
for
the physically
handicapped. Under this ordinance a physically handicapped zone
may be established by a resolution of the city council upon
request by any individual and verification by the city Parking
and Traffic Engineer.
staff has received a request from a resident for the installation
of a physically handicapped zone adjacent to a multi-family
development at 855 10th street (corner of Idaho Avenue). Staff
has reviewed the request and finds that the zone meets all the
appropriate requirements.
Budget/Financial Impact
There is no budget or financial impact resulting from this
request.
