Introductlon
ThlS report recommends to Clty Councll approval of the
attached resolution to establlsh a parklng zone for the
physlcally handicapped at the requested locatlon.
Background
On May 27, 1980 (Item 6C) the Clty Council adopted an
ordlnance to enable the establlshment of parklng zones for
physically handIcapped. Under thls ordlnance a physically
handicapped zone may be establlshed by resolutlon of the Clty
Councll upon request by any lndlvldual and conslderatlon by
the Parklng and Trafflc EngIneer.
Staff has recelved a request from a resldent for a physically
handlcapped zone adJacent to 1343 11th Street. Staff has revlewed
the request and finds that the ZOne meets all the approprlate
requlrements.
Recommendatlon
It 15 recommended the CIty Councll adopt the attached resolutlon
establlshlng a physlcally handlcapped zone, adJacent to 1343 11th
Street.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
ESTABLISHING PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED
ZONE ADJACENT TO 1343 11TH STREET
WHEREAS, the Clty Council of the City of Santa
Monlca has enacted an ordlnance enabllng indlvlduals to request
parklng zones for physlcally handlcapped person; and
WHEREAS, the Clty has rece~ved a request for a physically
handlcapped zone; and
WHEREAS, the Parklng and Traffic Englneer has consldered
the requests and concluded, based upon the factors stated 1n the
ordlnance, that a physlcally handicapped zone may be lnstalled at
the requested locatlon,
NON, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. A physically handicapped zone 15 hereby
established adJacent to 1343 11th Street.
SECTION 2. The C1ty Clerk shall certlfy to the adopt1on
of thlS resolutlon, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be ln full force and effect.
