Introductlon
ThlS report recommends that CIty Councll approve the attached
resolutlon to establlsh a parkIng zone for the physlcally
handlcapped at the requested locatlon.
Background
On May 27, 1980 (I tern 6 C) the Cl t Y Councll adopted an
ordInance to enable the establlshment of parkIng zones for
phYSIcally
handIcapped.
Under thlS ordlnance a physlcally
handlcapped zope may be establlshed by resolutlon of the Clty
Councll upon request by any Indlvldual and conslderatlon by the
CIty ParkIng and TraffIc Englneer.
Staff has recelved a request from a resldent for a physlcally
handIcapped zone adJacent to 1440-B FranklIn Street. Staff has
revIewed the request and flnds that the zone meets all the
approprIate requlrements.

(CITY COUNCIL SERIES)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA ESTABLISHING A
PHYSICALLY HANDICAP ZONE ADJACENT
TO 1440-B FRANKLIN STREET
WHEREAS, the City Council of Santa Monlca has enacted
an ordlnance enabling individuals to request parklng zones for
phYSIcally handicapped personsj and
'wHEREAS,
the City has received a request for a
phYSlcally handicap zonej and
wHEREAS, the Clty Parking and Trafflc Englneer has
consIdered the request and concluded, based upon the factors
stated In the ordInance, that a physically handIcap zone may be
installed at the requested location,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
A
Physically handlcap zone IS hereby
establlshed on the west side of Franklln Street adJacent to
1440-B FranklIn Street.
SECTION 2.
The Clty Clerk shall certify to the
adoptIon of thlS Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the
same shall be In full force and effect.
