Introduction
ThlS report recommends that the City Council approve the
attached resolution to establish a parking zone for the
physically handicapped at the requested location.
Background
On Hay 27, 1980, the city Council adopted an ordinance to
enable the establishment of parking zones for the physically
handicapped. ~nder this ordinance a physically handicapped zone
~ay be established by resolution of the City council upon request
by any individual and analysis and recommendation by the City
Parking and Traffic Engineer.
staff has received a request from Lewis Rashnir for a
Physically Ha~dicapped Zone adj acent to 527 12th street. Staff
has revlewed the request and flnds that the zone meets all the
appropria~e requirements.

Recommendation

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA ESTABLISHING PHYSICALLY
HANDICAPPED ZONE ADJACENT TO 527 12TH STREET
WHEREASt the city Council of the City of Santa Monica has
enacted an ordinance enabling individuals to request parking
zones for physically handicapped persons: and
WHEREASt the City has received a request for a physically
handicapped zone: and
~iliEREASt the Parking and Traffic Engineer has considered
the request and concludedt based upon the factors stated in
Municipal Code Section 3366At that an additional physically
handicapped zone may be installed at the requested locationt
NOW t THEREFORE, THE CITY COCNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
A physically handicapped zone is hereby
established adjacent to 527 12th Street.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolutlon, and thenceforth and thereafter the sa~e shall
be in full force and effect.
