Relatlng to Permlt Fees in Preferentlal Parking
Zone B
At lts meetlng on January 10,
1984, the City Counell
dlrected the Clty Attorney to prepare an ordlnance amendlng the
permlt fees In Preferentlal Parklng Zone B. In response to thlS
dlrectlon, the accompanying ordinance has been prepared and 1S
presented for conslderat1on by the Clty Cauncll.
The
Clty
council
has
prevlously approved a staff
recommendation to establish preferentlal parking zone permlt fees
at $15.00 per perm1t.
On January 10,
1984, the Clty Council
adopted an resolut1on changlng the perm1t fees for Zone C from
$25.00 to $15.00. The accompanYlng ordlnance would lncrease the
fees for Zone B from $10.00 to $15.00 per permlt and provlde that
future fee adJustments may be made by resolut1on.
RECOMMENDATION
It 15 respectfully recommended that the accompanYlng
ordlnance be lntroduced for flrst readlng.

CITY OF SANTA MONICA AMENDING SECTION 3238b
OF THE SANTA MONICA MUNICIPAL CODE TO
REVISE THE PERMIT FEES FOR
PREFERENTIAL PARKING ZONE B
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
Sectlon 3238b of the Santa Monlca Munlcipal
Code lS amended to read as follows:

any
curb

stopped wlthout a permit may be removed
from the street by any pollce officer.
(c) The annual fee for each perrn~t

shall be $15.00 per permit or such other
fee as may be established from tIme to
tIme by resolutIon of the CIty CouncIl.
SECTION 2. Any provisIon of the Santa MonIca Munlclpal
Code or appendIces thereto InconsIstent wIth the provIsions of
thIS ordInance, to the extent of such Inconslstencies and no
further, are hereby repealed or modIfIed to that extent necessary
to affect the provIsions of thIS ordInance.
SECTION 3. If any sectIon, subsectIon, sentence, clause,
or phrase of thIS ordinance IS for any reason held to be invalid
or unconstItutional by a decisIon of any court of any competent
JurIsdlction, such deCISIon shall not affect the valIdity of the
remalnlng

portlons of the ordInance. The CIty CouncIl hereby
that It would have passed thIs ordInance and each and
every section, subsectIon, sentence, clause or phrase not
declared lnvalld or unconstItutIonal without regard to whether
any portlon of the ordInance would be subsequently declared
InvalId or unconstitutIonal.
SECTION 4. The Mayor shall sign and the CIty Clerk shall
attest to the passage of thIS ordInance. The CIty Clerk shall
cause the same to be publIshed once in the offIcial newspaper
