Background
On May 27, 1980 (Item 6C) the C1ty Counc~l adopted an
ord1nance to enable the establ1shment of park1ng zones for
physically
hand1capped.

ord~nance
a
phys1cally
hand1capped zone may be establ1shed by resolut1on of the C~ty
Counc11 upon request by any ind1vidual and cons1derat1on by the
Park1ng and Traff1c Eng1neer.
Staff has rece1ved a request from a res1dent for a phys1cally
hand1capped
zone adjacent to
1211
Grant
Street.
Staff has
reviewed the request and finds that the zone meets all the
appropriate requirements.

Recommendation

RESOLUTION NO. 7093(CCS)

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA ESTABLISHING PHYSICALLY
HANDICAPPED ZONE ADJACENT TO 1211 GRANT STREET.
WHEREAS, the CIty CouncIl of the City of Santa MonIca has
enacted an ordInance enablIng IndIvIduals to request parkIng
zones for physIcally handIcapped person; and
WHEREAS, the CIty has receIved a request for a physIcally
handIcapped zone; and
WHEREAS, the ParkIng and TraffIc EngIneer has considered
the request and concluded, based upon the factors stated in the
ordinance, that an addItional physIcally handIcapped zone may be
installed at the requested locatIon,
NOW, THEREFORE J THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
A phYSIcally handIcapped zone is hereby
established on the north side of Grant Street adJacent to 1211
Grant Street.
SECTION 2. The CIty Clerk shall certify to the adoptIon
of thl s resol ut Ion J and thenceforth and the!'eafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
