the
physically handl.capped at the requested location.
Background
On Hay 27, 1980 (Item 6C) the Clty Council adopted an
ordlnance to enable the establl.shment of park1ng
zones for
physically
handlcapped.
Under
th1s
ord1nance
a
phYSlcally
handicapped zone may be estab11shed by resolution of the C1ty
counCl.l upon request by any lndividual and consideratl.on by the
Parking and Traffic Engineer.
Staff has rece1ved a request from the Senlor Health and Peer
Counse11ng Center for a physically handicapped zone for two
vehicles adjacent to 2125 Ar1zona Avenue. Staff has reviewed the
request and flnds that
the zone meets
all the approprl.ate
requlrements. The subJect zone is to be located on the west side
of 22nd Street immediately north of Arl.zona Avenue.
Budget/Financial Impact
There is no budget or fl.nanClal lmpact resulting from this
request.

RESOLUTION NO. 7102(CCS)
(CITY COUNCIL SERIES)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA ESTABLISHING PHYSICALLY
HANDICAPPED ZONE ON 22ND STREET ADJACENT TO
2125 ARIZONA AVENUE.
WHEREAS) the City Council of the City of Santa Monica has
enacted an ordinance enabling individuals to request parking
zones for physically handicapped person; and
WHEREAS, the C1ty has received a request for a physl.cally
handicapped zone; and
WHEREAS, the Parking and Traffl.c Engl.neer has considered
the request and concluded, based upon the factors stated in the
ordl.nance, that an add1tional physically handl.capped zone may be
installed at the requested location,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
A physl.cally handicapped zone 1S hereby
establl.shed on the west s1de of 22nd Street adJacent to 2125
Ari zona Avenue.
SECTION 2.
The Cl.ty Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be 1n full force and effect.
