INTRODUCTION
ThlS report recommends to City Council approval of the
attached
resolution
to establish a Parking Zone for the
PhYSlcally Handlcapped at the requested location.
BACKGROUND
On May 27, 1980 (Item 6C) the Clty Councll adopted an
ordlnance to enable the establishment of Parklng Zones for
Physlcally
Handicapped.
Under thlS ordinance a Physlcal1y
Handlcapped Zone may be established by Resolutlon of the City
Council upon request by any lndividual and consideration by the
Parklng and Trafflc Englneer.
Staff has received a request from a resident for a Physlcally
Handicapped Zone adJacent to 527 Lincoln Boulevard. Staff has

reviewed the request and finds that the zone meets all the
appropriate requirements.

OF SANTA MJNICA ESTABLISHING PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED
ZOOE ADJACENT 'ill 527 LINCOLN OOULEVARD.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the C~ty of Santa M::mica has enacted
an ordinance enabling ind~ v1.duals to request park:mg zones for physically hanmcapped
person; and
WHEREAS, the City has received a request for a physically handlcapped
zone i and
WHEREAS, the Parkmg and Trafflc Engllleer has considered the requests
and concluded, based upon the factors stated in the ordJ.I1ance, that a physically
handicapped zone my be mstalled at the requested lcx::ation,
Na-'J, THEREFORE I THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA M:l'lICA OOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLC:WS:
SECTION 1. A physically hand~capped zone is hereby established on
the east side of Lincoln Boulevard adjacent to 527 Lincoln Boulevard.
SECl'IOO 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the sane shall be in full force and
effect.
