Introduction
Th1s report recommends to C1ty CounC1l approval of the
attached
resolution
to

parking
zone
for
the
physically hand1capped at the requested location.
Background
On May 27, 1980 (Item 6C) the C1ty Council adopted an
ordinance to enable the establishment
of parking
zones for
phys1cally
handicapped.
Under
thi s
ord1nance
a
physically
hand1capped zone may be estab11shed by resolut1on of the C1ty
Counc1l upon request by any 1nd1vidual and cons1deration by the
Parking and Traff1c Eng1neer.

Staff has rece1ved a request from a resident for a physically
hand1capped zone adj acent to 140 Pacif1C Street. The sub] ect
property does not have any off street parking. Staff has rev1ewed
the request and f1 nds that the zone meets all the appropr1ate
requirements.
Budget/F1nancial Impact
There 1S no budget or f1nanc1al 1mpact resulting from t hi s
request.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA ESTABLISHING PHYSICALLY
HANDICAPPED ZONE ADJACENT TO 140 PACIFIC STREET
WHEREAS. the City Council of the City of Santa Monica has
enacted an ordinance enabling individuals to request parking
zones for physically hand~capped person; and
WHEREAS, the City has received a request for a phys~cally
handicapped zone; and
WHEREAS) the Park~ng and Traffic Eng~neer has considered
the request and concluded, based upon the factors stated in the
ord~nance, that an add~tional physically handicapped zone may be
~n5talled at the requested locat~on,
NOW. THEREFORE. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
A phys~cally handicapped zone ~s hereby
establ~shed on the south s~de of Pacif~c Street adjacent to 140
Pac~f~c Street.
SECTION 2.
The C~ty Clerk shall cert~fy to the adopt~on
of th~s r~solutlon. and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be 10 full force and effect.
