Establishment of parking Zone for the Physically
Handicapped
Subject:
Introduction
This report recommends the City council approve the attached
resolution to establish a parking zone for the physically
handicapped at the requested location.
Background
On May 27, 1980 (Item 6C) the City Council adopted an
ordinance to enable the establ ishment of parking zones for the
physically handicapped. Under this ordinance a physically
handicapped zone may be established by resolution of the City
Council upon request by any individual and analysis and
recommendation by the City Parking and Traffic Engineer.
staff has received a request from a resident for a physically
handicapped zone adjacent to 1436 Harvard Street. Staff has
reviewed the request and finds that the zone meets all the
appropriate requirements.
Budget/Financial Impact
There is no budget or financial impact rasul ting from this
request.

Recommendation
It is recommended the City Council adopt the attached

1436 Harvard street.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA ESTABLISHING PHYSICALLY
HANDICAPPED ZONE ADJACENT TO 1436 HARVARD STREET
WHEREAS I the City Council of the city of Santa Monica has
enacted an ordinance enabling individuals to request parking
zones for physically handicapped person; and
WHEREAS, the city has received a request for a physically
handicapped zone; and
WHEREAS, the Parking and Traffic Enginee~ has considered
the request and concluded I based upon the factors stated in
Municipal Code Section 3366A, that an additional physically
handicapped zone may be installed at the requested locationl
NOW I THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
A physically handicapped zone is hereby
established on the west s~de of Harvard Street adjacent to 1436
Harvard Street.
SECTION 2. The City Cle~k shall ce~tify to the adoption
of this resolutionl and t~enceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
