IntroductIon
ThIS report recommends to CIty CouncIl approval of the
attached
resolutIon
to establIsh a parkIng zone for the
physlcally handlcapped at the requested locatlon.
Background
On May 27, 1980 (Item 6C) the CIty Councll adopted an
ordlnance to enable the establishment of parklng zones for
physlcally
handlcapped.
Under thIS ordinance a phYSIcally
handIcapped zor.e may be establlshed by resolutIon of the Clty
CouncIl upon request by any IndIvldual and consideratIon by the
CIty ParkIng and Traffic Engineer.
Staff has received a request from a reSident for a phYSIcally
handIcapped zone adjacent to 2451 20th Street.
Staff has
reviewed the request and fInds that the zone meets all the
appropriate reqUIrements.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA ESTABLISHING A
PHYSICALLY HANDICAP ZONE ADJACENT
TO 2451 20TH STREET.
WHEREAS, the Clty Council of Santa Monlca has enacted
an ordinance enabllng indivlduals to request parkIng zones for
physically handIcapped persons; and
WHEREAS,
the City has receIved a request for a
phYSlcally handlcap zone; and
WHEREAS, the CIty Parking and Traffic Engineer has
consldered the request and concluded, based upon the factors
stated in the ordlnance, that a phYSlcally handicap zope may be
installed at the requested locatlon,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
A
PhySically handicap zone IS hereby
established adJacent to 2451 20th Street.
SECTIor~ 2.
The City Clerk shall certlfy to the
adoptIon of thIS Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the
same shall be In full force and effect.
