Or. May 27J 1980 (Item 6C) the CIty Council adopted a~
ordInance to enable the establIshment of parkIng zor,es for
phYSIcally handicapped.

handIcapped ZO":ie may be establIshed by resolutlor of the CIty
CounCIl upon request by ary l~dIvIdual and conslderatlo~ by the
ParkIng and TraffIC Engl~eer.
Staff has receIved a request from Vlsualtek for a phYSIcally
handIcapped zone adjacent to 1625 Olympic Boulevard. Staff has
reVIewed the request and fl~ds that the zone meets all the
approprIate requireme~ts. Vlsualtek IS relocatIng from 1610 26th
St~eet to 1625 Olympic Boulevard. The 26th Street address
currently has a har-dlcapped zone WhICh WIll be removed once the
relocatIon has been completed.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA ESTABLISHING PHYSICALLY
HANDICAPPED ZONE ADJACENT TO 1625 OLYMPIC BOULEVARD
WHEREAS, the CIty Council of the CIty of Santa MonIca has
enacted an ordlna~ce enablIng IndIviduals to request parkIng
zones for physIcally handIcapped person; and
WHEREAS, the CIty has receIved a request for a physIcally
handicapped zone; and
WHEREAS, the Park Ing and Tr affIc Eng l"ieer has conSIdered
the request and cor:cluded, based upon the factors stated In the
ordInarce, that an addItior.al physIcally handIcapped zone may be
Installed at the requested locatIon,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
A phYSIcally handicapped zor.e is hereby
establIshed on the north sIde of Olympic Boulevard adJacent to
1625 OlympIc Boulevard.
SECTION 2. The Cl ty Clerk shall ce~tIfy to the adoptIon
of this resolutIon, and ther.ceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
