PubllC Hear1ng for Proposed Concrete Sidewalk Construction and Tree Plantlng on the east slde of Neilson Way between Pica Boulevard and Holllster Avenue Introductlon This report requests City Council hold a pub11C hearlng for construction of concrete sldewa1ks and the plant1ng of trees on the east side of Nel1son Way between P1CO Boulevard and Holllster Avenue and to adopt the attached resolutlon under the provlslons of Chapter 27 of the Improvement Act of 1911, Background The Clty Councll at ltS meeting on October 14, 1980, adopted Resolution of Intention No 6096 for the subject constructlon (Item 6-F-9). This resolut10n set a publlc hearing for November 11, 1980. Notices were posted along Nellson Way as requlred by Chapter 27. Wrltten notlces were mal led to the property owners abuttlng the proposed proJect, des1gnating the t1me and date of the hearing and the apprOXlmate cost to them. The area 15 presently unlmproved and these lmprovements w1l1 bring the area to a standard slmilar to the surroundlng area, The estlmated cost to the property owner 15 $11,75 per front foot. Those property owners who wish to perform thelr own work must commence the work wlthin 60 days from the date of adoption of the resolutlon orderlng the work. If the work is done by any property owner, there will be no assessment to that property. Recommendation It is recommended that the City Council, l. Hold the public hearing in accordance wlth the Resolutlon of Intention No. 6096 (CCS); 2, Close the publlC hearing, and 3. Adopt the attached resolutlon ordering the work.
