SUBJECT: Setting February 10, 1981, as the Date
for Public Hearing on the Assessment of
Costs to Repair Damaged Sidewalks,
Driveways, and Curbs (SR-80-12l
Introduction
This report requests the Clty Council set a public hearing for the
assessment of the costs to repair damaged sidewalks, driveways and
curbs.
Background
On October 9, 1979, the City Council approved a sidewalk repair
program which provided for property owner participation in the
cost of repairing damaged sidewalks (Item 11-cl. Property owner
participation was set at 50% of the cost of the repairs; the City
wi 11 pay the remaininq 50% of the cost of the repair without
regard to the reason for the damage.
Certain repair work has now been completed and the property
owners' share of the costs will now be due. A publ ic hearing must
be held pursuant to provisions of Division 7, Chapter 22, Sections
5600 to 5630, of the Streets and Hlghways Code for the State of
Cal ifornia. A resolution setting the public hearing for February
10, 1981 is attached.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SMITA MONICA SETTING A
HEARING DATE FOR M'Y PROTESTS OR
OBJECTIOtJS TO THE REPORT OF THE
SUPERINTENDENT OF STREETS REGARDING
REPAIR OF SIDEWALKS, DRIVEWAYS AND
CURBS. (SR-80-12l
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MDNICA
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the Superintendent of Streets
wi 11 fil e a report of work pursuant to Division 7,
Chapter 22, Sections 5600 and 5630 of the Streets and
Highways Code of the State of California, relating to
the construction of certain improvements to sidewalks
and driveways.
SECTION 2. That pursuant to Section 5600 et
seq. of said code, the City Council does hereby order
and declare that on the 10th day of February, 1981, in
the Council Chambers of the City Hall. it will hear and

pass upon any and all objections or protests to the
report of work of the Superintendent of Streets and the
amount of the assessment assigned against the real
property described in said report.
SECT! ON 3. That all protests or objections
must be in writing and filed with the City Clerk on or
before the time set for hearing of protests and
objections.
SECTION 4. The Superintendent of Streets is hereby
