Th1S report requests the C1 t Y CounCil set a publ1C hear1ng for
October 14, 1986, to hear protests regardlng the wo"'k and conf1rm
the assessme'1ts of the cost to "'epalr damaged sidewalks,
d>'"lveways and curbs.
Background
On October' 9, 1979, the C1 ty Councll appr'oved a sldewalk r'epa1>'"
program whlch proVided fo'" property owner' partIcipation 1'1 the
cost of "'epalrlng damaged sidewalks. Resldent1al prope...ty owne>'"
pa>'"t1c1patlon 1S 50% of the cost of the repa1>'"s If the damage 1S
related to t"'ee roots; the C1ty pays the rema1n1ng 50% of the
co:",t of the ...epal.... Property OW'1e>'"s are assessed 100% of the
cost If the damage IS not related to tree roots and commercIal
property owners are assessed 100% of the cost regardless of the
cause of the damage.

DATE FOR ANY PROTESTS OR OBJECTIONS TO
THE REPORT OF THE SUPERINTENDENT OF
STREETS REGARDING REPAIR OF SIDEWALKS,

RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1- The SuperIntendent of St"'eets WIll fIle a
report of repair pursuant to SectIon 5617 of the Streets and

to the City Clerk.
SECTION 5. The CIty Clerk shall certIfy to the adoptIng
of thIS ResolutIon, and thenceforth and thereafte" the same shall
be In full force and effect.
