The removal and replacement of 2,575 square feet of PCC
concrete on sIdewalks;
The removal and -eplacement of 425 squa'"e feet of PCC
concrete on d-Iveways;
The :"emoval and -eplacement of 91 lIneal feet of Type A
curb; and
The removal of 82 squa-e feet of PCC concrete.
The total cost of the wo'"k was $10,458.00, based on the following

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA SETTIN'G A
HEARING DATE FOR ANY PROTESTS OR
OBJECTIONS TO THE REPORT OF THE
SUPERINTENDENT OF STREETS REGARDING
REPAIR OF SI DEWlI.LKS, DRIVE"lvAYS AND
CURBS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SA...'-'TA ~!ONICA
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the Superintendent of Streets
will file a report of work pursuant to Division 7,
Chapter 22, Sections 5600 and 5630 of the Streets and
Hlghways Code of the State of Callfornla, relating to
the constructlon of certal.n iMprovements to sidewalks
and driveways.
SECTIm, 2. That pursuant to Section 5600 et
seq. of said code, the Cl.ty Council does hereby order
and declare that on the 13th day of January, 1981, in
the Counell Chawbers of the City Hall, it will hear and
pass upon any and all objections or protests to the
report of work of the superintendent of Streets and the
amount of the assessment assigned against the real
property described ln said report.
SECTION 3. That all protests or objectlons
must be in wrltlng and filed with the City Clerk on or
before the time set for hearlng of protests and
objections.
SECTION 4. The Superintendent of Streets is hereby

dlrected to Mail notlces, in the manner and form
prescribed by law, of the adoption of this resolution to
all persons ownlng real property affected by the
sidewalk asseSSMent repair program, whose names and
addresses appear on the last equallzed assessment roll
for the Clty taxes or as known to the Clty Clerk.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to
the adoptlon of this resolution and thenceforth and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.

WHEREAS, the Street SuperIntendent of the CIty of Santa
MonIca, pursuant to SectIon 5600 to 5630 of the Streets and
HIghways Code, commenced proceedings to cause the repaIr of
damaged sidewalks, dr1veways and curbs 1n the CIty of Santa
MonIca, and
WHEREAS, Slxty days after saId order was served, the
work had not been completed by the owners or persons In possession
of the affected propert1es, and the SuperIntendent of Streets
caused the work to be done; and
WHEREAS, the Super1ntendent of Streets dId file with the
CIty Councll of the City of Santa MonIca his report of such work,
and a hear1ng thereon was called by Resolution No. 6141 (CCS); and
-- WHEREAS, the Clty Council conducted a noticed hearing to

cons1der any protests or objections to the Report of Work;
NOW, THEREFORE, T~E CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION l. That the Report of Work of the
Super1ntendent of Streets heretofore fIled and above-described, be
and the same 1S hereby confirmed.
SECTION 2. That all of saId protests and objectlons of
every klnd and nature to the repaIrs or to the assessments and all
appeals therefrom to saId C1ty Council be and the same hereby are
overruled and denIed.

until the assessment and all lnterest thereon is pald.
SECTION 5. That 1f the assessment 1S not paId withln
the time permItted, the CIty Cle~k shall deliver a NotIce of Lien,
signed by the Supe'"lntendent of Streets, as prOVIded l.n SectIon
5626 of the Streets and HIghways Code of the State of CalifornIa,
to the County Assessor and Tax Collector, who, in accordance wIth
applIcable law, shall collect saId assessment,together WIth all
other taxes relating to such proper-ty.
SECTION 6. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of thlS Resolution.
