SUBJECT: Palisades Park Walkway Resurfacing -- Appropriation of
Additional Funds
Introductlon
This report recommends that the City Council appropriate $4,000 from General Fund
reserves for the completion of Palisades Park Walkway Resurfacing.
Background
On June 26, 1979, the City Council approved a contract for the resurfacing of the
walkway in Palisades Park in the amount of $16,772 with the stipulation that the
work could be extended as necessary to the amount of funds available. Twenty-one
thousand dollars ($21,000) was originally available in the fiscal year 1978-79
budget. Four thousand dollars ($4,000) of additional material was used to complete
the project. As of June 30, 1979, only $16,772 was encumbered and the remainlng
funds were returned to the general fund at the close of fiscal year 1978-79 in
accordance with the CIty Managerls policy. Therefore, an additIonal appropriation
of $4,000 from this year1s budget is being requested to complete this work.
Recommenda t lOn
It is recommended that $4,000 be appropriated to complete the contract for pavement
of Palisades Park Walkway.
