Subject: Side"'fa.lk repair at 410 24th St.
We have received notice that the subject sidewalk repair
has been completed, but we have an objection to rile~
rhe work has not been completed. The property line marker that
was in the sidewalk prior to repair has not been reinstalled.
je informed Mr. Alex Casillas of this by telephone on 8-25-86.
rhe property line marker was first brought to our attention
by one of your Street Inspectors. prior to the repair work.
He cautioned us that if we had a private contractor flake the
repair, he would be required to properly reinstall the marker
before the work would be accepted as complete. However, the
City performed the work, but has not as vet reinstalled the
Marker.
The marker is very important to us. It showed thRt the
fence between our house and our neighbor's was definitely on
our property. fhe neighbor has contended that the fence was on
the property line. ~e ha~ been Q~a~are or the Marker until the
inspector pointed it out. Unfortunately, we did not have the
opportunity to show it to our neighbor before it was remcved.
If it is necessary ror us to ap~ear personally at the
December 9 hearing, we would appreciate a telephone call at
393-5906~ ~e would have nothing further to add to the information
contained in this letter.

Protest Letter
On December ll, 1986[ the city Clerk's office received the
attached protest letter regarding Sidewalk Assessment District
SR-86-90, from Joseph E. Hunter of 2108 Marine St. The public
hearing was Item 7-B on the agenda of December 9, 1986.
As the letter was not received until December III 1986, the city
council was not advised of the protest. We have not responded to
the letter[ and are sending it along for you office to handle.
Please advise our office if there is any further action we need
to take to meet any legal requirements.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Re: Sidewalk Repair at 2108 Marine street
(Sidewalk Assessment D1strict : SR-86-90)
The sidewalk repair at the above described property has been
completed[ and the cost of the sidewalk repair is $400.00. Your cost
is $200.00, which is one-half of the cost of the work done at the
location. THIS IS NOT AN INVOICE. You will be billed later.
Pursuant to Streets and Highways Code section 5616, .this letter is
notification that the City Council, pursuant to' Resolution No. 7314
adopted on October 14, 1986, has scheduled a hearing to hear and pass
upon the report of the Superintendent of streets of the cost of the
pidewalk repair, in connection with the above-described project,
together with any objections and protests, if any, which may be raised
by any property owner liable to be assessed for the cost of such
~idewalk repair and any other interested persons.
The hearing will be held as follows:

the City Clerk on or before the time set for the hearinq.

Vpon' confirmation of the report of the Superintendent of streets, as
provided for in streets and Highways Code section 5618, the cost of
~he sidewalk repair will be assessed against your property, and you
~ill be notified of the manner of payment. . The city will provide
~inancial assistance for low-to-moderate income persons. If your
~ncome is less than $16,900 for a family of one persbn, $19,300 for
:two persons, $21 [750 for three persons or $24,150 for four persons,
~all 458-8701 for information on this program.
