SUBJECT: 1980-81 County "Aid to C1ties" Gas Tax Program (C-89)
Introduction
Th1S report requests the C1ty Counc1l adopt the attached resolution requesting
the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors allocate "Aid to Citiesll Gasoline
Tax Funds in the amount of $118.893 to the City of Santa Mon1ca for the pur-
pose of performing certa1n street maintenance work.
Background
Each year the County appropriates certain Gas Tax Funds to Santa Mon1ca for
the purpose of ma1ntalning our "Select System" of streets. In order to re-
ceive these funds from the County, the Council must make a formal request each
year. A map of the Select System streets wlll be provlded at the July 22nd
Counc11 meeting.
Recol7lllendation
It 15 recommended the City Council adopt the attached resolution requesting
the allQcation and payment of County "Aid to Cities" Funds for mall1tenance of
our select system streets.

RESOLUTION NO. 6053
(CITY COUNCIL SERIES)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA REQUESTING AN ALLOCATION AND PAYMENT
OF COUNTY AID TO CITIES FUNDS FOR THE ~AINTENANCE
OF SELECT SYSTEM STREETS (C-89)
WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles has appropriated certaln
monies to the City of Santa Monlca as County Aid to Citles; and
WHEREAS, the Clty Councl1 desires to expend the amount of
$118.893 of said funds accrued to the City for the maintenance of streets
on the City's approved Select System.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS'
SECTION 1. The County of Los Angeles is hereby requested to
allocate $11&,893 of the Aid to Cities (A.T.C.) funds apportioned to the
Clty for the maintenance of those streets on the currently approved Select
System of Streets (excluding State Hlghways), on file with the Department
of Transportation, State of California. and incorporated herein by
reference.
SECTION 2. After the allocation is approved by the Board of
SuperVlsors and funds are available, the County is requested to send such
allocated amount to the Clty. The City will begin using the funds for
the street malntenance according to the terms of the allocation.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in
full force and effect.

SECTION 4. That the Clty Engineer shall forward a certified
copy of this resolution to the Los Angeles County Road Commlssioner for
processing.
