This report transmits for second reading and adopt1on an ordinance
providing for an increase of Refuse Collection Service Charges.
BackgTound
At the C1ty Counc1l meeting of December 12, 1978, the ordinance was
introduced. If the ordinance is adopted, staff plans to implement the
new fee schedule on March 5, 1979. This will allow time for 1nformation
flyers to be sent to customers prior to the implementation of the new
rates.

It is respectfully recommended that the City Council pass the attached
ordinance for second reading and adoption.

ARTICLE V, OF THE SANTA MONICA MUNICIPAL CODE IN ORDER TO INCREASE THE
AMOUNT OF FEES CHARGED FOR GENERAL CITY REFUSE COLLECTION", reading by
title only and waiving further reading thereof. Second by Councilmember
Trives. The motion was approved by the following vote:
