SUBJECT: 1981-82 County "Aid to Cltles" Gas Tax Program (C-90)
Introduction
Th1S report requests the C1ty Council adopt the attached resolut1on requestlng
the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors allocate JtAld to Cities" Gasoline
Tax Funds in the amount of $364.934 to the C1ty of Santa Monlca for the purpose
of performlng street malntenance work.
Background
Each year the County appropriates certain Gas Tax Funds to Santa Monlca for the
purpose of maintaln1ng the arter1al street system.
In order to receive these
funds from the County, the Cliy Councll must make a fonmal request each year.
The $364,934 consists of:

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA ~EQUESTING AN ALLO-
CATION AND PAYMENT OF COUNTY AID TO CITIES
FUNDS FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF SELECT SYSTEM
STREETS (C-90)
WHEREAS. the County of Los Angeles has aDproprlated certa,n ~onles
to the Clty of Santa Monica as County Aid to Clties; and
WHEREAS, the Clty Council desires to expend the amount of S36d,93d
~
of sald funds accrued to the C1ty for the ma,ntenance of streets on :he City1s
approved Select System.
NOW, THE~EFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The County of Los Angeles is hereby requested to allocate
$364,934 of the Aid to Cltles (A.T.C.) funds apportloned to the Clty for the
~alntenance of those streets on the currently approved Select Syste~ of Streets
(exclud1ng State nlghways), on file w1th the Department of Transportat1on, State
of Cal1fornla, and lncorporated herein by reference.
SECTION 2. After the allocation .s approved by the Board of Supervlscrs
and funds are avallable, the County 1S requested to send such allocated amount to
the C1ty. The City w11l begin USing the funds for the street maintenance according
to the terms of the allocatIon.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shal1 certify to the adoption of thlS
resolut1on and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be ln full force and
effect.

SECTION 4. That the Clty Englneer shall forward a cert,fled copy
of this resolution to the Los Angeles County Road Commissloner for Drocessl~g.
